A first for the Food and Drinks Industry, chocolate lovers can help save the planet by treating themselves to Organic Meltdown, a new range of delicious Fairtrade and organic Swiss chocolate bars from Brand Stand.
Brand Stand has teamed up with the World Land Trust to create a unique way of helping to save trees in tropical rainforests, combating global warming and climate change, and preserving valuable wildlife habitats.
For every bar of Organic Meltdown purchased, a tree in a tropical forest will be saved. Every chocolate wrapper has a unique serial code, and by logging on to the social networking site for tree lovers, organicmeltdown.com, you can locate your tree with Google Maps. Organic Meltdown is currently working to preserve a forest of more than 500,000 trees near Los Llanganates National Park in Ecuador, under threat of being destroyed by loggers. The ultimate goal: to save five million trees by 2012.
