Description

This stein features a reproduction of one of the famous prints of European cities done by master Matthaus Merian during his travel all over Europe. Thanks to bohemian artists like him we have today many engravings from battles and hunts and topographics prints of Europe. He used to travel from city to city and worked in his graphic art producing many prints that are today very well known. It is believed his name became so popular that a German travel magazine liked it and adopted it.That is how famous he was at the time.

Ltd Ed 1000 pieces.

A very artistic element of this stein is the oakwood lid, exactly as steins were in those days in Germany before the silversmiths developed the pointed pewter lids. The oakwood was added with a pointed shape to the base flat lid top. This museum quality reproduction piece has been recreated following all standards of the time.

From Germany. This is one of a collectors series of the Medieval cities' prints of Germany and Europe.
